SRO reveals capacity 33-car GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS entry

> Eight manufacturers also confirmed
> Provisional 2025 full-season entry list

33 cars and eight manufacturers are set to contest this year’s GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS campaign following publication of the provisional full-season entry list.

This is the same number as in 2024 when SRO Motorsports Group began capping its Asia entry due to demand. While more cars can and previously have contested specific events, and will do so again this year, the full-season total accounts for the smallest pitlane on the calendar.

It’s also the joint-greatest number accepted for a full season since the championship was established in 2017.

Driver combinations and classes will be confirmed ahead of Sepang’s season opener on April 11-13. Five more events then follow across the region, first with the continuation of southeast Asia’s leg in Indonesia and Thailand before the championship moves on to Japan and China for the second half of its campaign.

Reigning drivers’ and teams’ champions, Origine Motorsport, have increased their involvement to three Porsches – a quarter of the twelve 911 GT3 Rs that comprise more than a third of the total entry.

Craft-Bamboo and Climax again lead Mercedes-AMG’s charge. Its former customer squad, JMR, has switched to Corvette Racing over the winter, while Absolute Racing adds Lamborghini to its existing Porsche stable.

Plus Racing – also known as Team Studie – returns full-time after skipping 2024 to aid BMW’s cause, Winhere Harmony Racing again spearheads Ferrari’s challenge across the region, and FAW Audi Sport Asia Racing Team – run by Phantom Racing – has two Audis at its disposal.

5ZIGEN’s fan favourite Nissan GT-R, which won a race outright last year, is also back.

The list of teams with confirmed full-season entries is remarkably similar to 2024’s. Indeed, just one new outfit – Chinese squad Uno Racing – makes its series debut this year.

In addition, several race-by-race entries will make guest appearances throughout 2025.

Seven of the eight manufacturers – Audi, BMW, Corvette Racing, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche – are also eligible to score global GT World Challenge powered by AWS points, which are accrued across 30 events and 53 races on four continents. America kicks off its new season at Sonoma this weekend before Phillip Island stages Australia’s opener one week later. Europe and Asia then begin in unison, albeit several thousand miles apart at Circuit Paul Ricard and Sepang, respectively.
