Tomohide Yamaguchi and Seiji Ara will race the new M4 GT3 Evo for Plus Racing with BMW M Team Studie this year.
The same partnership contested the Japan Cup in 2023 before Plus Racing focused on its domestic Super GT programme last year. But the new season sees the team and driver pairing mount a GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS campaign that encompasses all six events across the continent for the first time.
Theirs is one of two new Evo-spec M4s confirmed. Ruan Cun Fan and Maxime Oosten will race KRC’s example.
Firstly, I am very grateful to be racing in GT World Challenge Asia,” said Yamaguchi. “PLUS with BMW M Team Studie is going to focus on the series, where we will be fighting in Asia. It has been a year since I last raced (in Asia) but I will battle for every position!”
Ara added: “I am very happy to be able to race in GT World Challenge Asia in 2025, especially with PLUS with BMW M Team Studie, which very much feels like my own family. I look forward to pairing up with my team-mate Tomohide, who I shared my time not only in this series previously, but also in Super GT. We will maximise the performance of the BMW M4 GT3 Evo, which as the name suggests, has been given an evolutionary upgrade, and aim to have a great campaign.”
GT World Challenge Asia 2025 begins at Sepang on April 11-13.
